One of my old friends sent me these pictures of her representing Zare at her aerial class. Totally made my day–one, to see her wearing my t-shirt, and two, to see her rocking such an awesome hobby!
“Sometimes if you want to change a man’s mind, you have to change the mind of the man next to him first.”
This is one of my favorite quotes from The King of Attolia.
Are you excited for the new Attolia book, Thick as Thieves, which comes out later this month?
I’m sure you heard that Megan Whalen Turner is releasing the next Attolia book this March, Thick as Thieves. I am quite looking forward to it. I’ve also been practicing my hand lettering, and came out with this:
Prints, attire, housewares, skins, and bags available at Redbubble.

Last July I got attend the Great Meadow International–a three star 2 day event. The riders from the US Equestrian Olympic Team, plus a couple other country team members, were using it as a prep for the Olympics. It was so much fun to watch riders and horses that good compete.
I dragged Zorro’s DSLR around all weekend and have a few hundred pictures, as you can imagine. I’m rather proud of myself for picking just a few favorites. They are impressions, hoping to capture the speed, guts, and precision of the most impressive team sport there is (no, really, how many other teams contain a 1000 lb beast of prey who doesn’t speak the same language?).
I started selling art on Redbubble because I wanted fanwear for the Attolia series by Megan Whalen Turner. I think I’ve expanded a bit since then:
It will be a year in November, and I have had a lot of fun with Redbubble. I plan to keep expanding and keep getting better at art.
I’m also thinking I need to tackle Attolia again and start working up some more fanwear designs.
Are there other books that are unrepresented in the fanwear realm that you think I should do?

Shayera, Hawkgirl…one of my favorite characters from the Justice League. There isn’t a lot of Hawkgirl memorabilia out there, so I thought I’d start working on some. I imagine more will turn up since she’s a character on a new live action show (Legends of Tomorrow), but I’m old school and like the old JLA Hawkgirl better.
Remember this post? No, I didn’t make Zare shirts–not yet (too soon?).
BUT…I finally made a tee shirt for the Attolia books!
This is not the first tee shirt I’ve designed–college fencing club for the win!–but it’s the first one I’ve done by myself. Wow, digital clean up is a bear.
But the end result is worth it.
After a little searching around, I decided to join the Redbubble community for this project. I have no interest in dealing with production or fulfillment myself, and Redbubble handles all of that. I’ve also bought from them several times and really love their products.
Redbubble always has a Black Friday deal, you should head over there and get your one-of-a-kind fan art.
By the way…it’s not just t-shirts. Home decor, bags, iphone and android skins…even stickers.
Right now, mine is the only art for Attolia. I don’t really see that changing…but I would like to do more Attolia art so you have options. And more art in general.
I have plans and nearly-finished projects just waiting to go up!
