Zare’s on Patreon!

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much for reading The Legend of Zare Caspian! It means so much to me to have people swept up in Zare’s adventures.

I have big news, I decided to launch a Patreon profile! Patreon is based on the idea of patronage, allowing people to directly support creators who work they enjoy on a monthly basis and get a few extra little perks as a thank you.

You won’t have to be a patron to read Zare’s adventures, but your patronage buys me more time for Zare. This in turn brings us closer to The Legend of Zare Caspian; The Badlands Job The Actual Physical Book, and a more reliable weekly dose of adventure on Monday mornings.

Click here to go to Patreon. Every little bit helps, I’m so thankful for each of you no matter how much or little you can give!

Nightrage Rising

A friend of mine just released book two in his series, The Unseen Chronicles. It’s another delightful fantasy adventure, aimed at younger readers than Zare, but the quality of story the whole family will enjoy.

Zare is 17 in her current story, and Essie’s more like 13 in hers, but I imagine they’d get along handsomely.

Alright, here are the details:

Nightrage Rising will release this next Saturday, on December 9th. During this Christmas season the Amazon Kindle e-book will be available for .99 and will be free for Kindle Unlimited subscribers. The paperback should be available that same day. Here’s the direct link: http://amzn.to/2AsFwIa
Nightrage Rising is a street-level fantasy-adventure novel with a healthy splash of Nancy Drewish mystery—mixed with a dollop of wit and snark. It is a fast paced, first-person, present-tense story of a girl discovering self-worth, courage and friendship in the face of an unstable kingdom, magical inequality, and a dangerous, seductive cult. If you grab a copy off the shelf and flip to the back cover, here’s what you’ll find:
“Essie Brightsday is blind. But that hasn’t kept her from curses, dragons, or rock basilisks in the past. Now her family lives in the bustling capital of Plen, a far cry from their small farm tucked against the Valley of Fire. Little does she know that a secretive cult is growing in the city, guaranteeing this adventure will be just as eventful as the last…”

While Nightrage Rising is the sequel to A Hero’s Curse, it was written to stand on its own. If you missed the first book, don’t worry, you can still jump in, right now. (You can find out more about a A Hero’s Curse here www.psbroaddus.com/a-heros-curse/).
Also, head over to Facebook on Saturday, December 9th, for the launch party. There are always cool guests and giveways. I’ll be on at 4pm, come by!

Sport Horse Fan stuff

Looking for Zare? Click here for Episode 44!

Last July I got attend the Great Meadow International–a three star 2 day event. The riders from the US Equestrian Olympic Team, plus a couple other country team members, were using it as a prep for the Olympics. It was so much fun to watch riders and horses that good compete.

I dragged Zorro’s DSLR around all weekend and have a few hundred pictures, as you can imagine. I’m rather proud of myself for picking just a few favorites. They are impressions, hoping to capture the speed, guts, and precision of the most impressive team sport there is (no, really, how many other teams contain a 1000 lb beast of prey who doesn’t speak the same language?).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy them. They are available for purchase as prints, framed prints, and a variety of other things at www.redbubble.com and www.society6.com/

sketches – Hawkgirl

Shayera, Hawkgirl…one of my favorite characters from the Justice League. There isn’t a lot of Hawkgirl memorabilia out there, so I thought I’d start working on some. I imagine more will turn up since she’s a character on a new live action show (Legends of Tomorrow), but I’m old school and like the old JLA Hawkgirl better.

Tees for book fans

Remember this post? No, I didn’t make Zare shirts–not yet (too soon?).

BUT…I finally made a tee shirt for the Attolia books!

This is not the first tee shirt I’ve designed–college fencing club for the win!–but it’s the first one I’ve done by myself. Wow, digital clean up is a bear. attoliateeshirtmodel

But the end result is worth it.

After a little searching around, I decided to join the Redbubble community for this project. I have no interest in dealing with production or fulfillment myself, and Redbubble handles all of that. I’ve also bought from them several times and really love their products.

Redbubble always has a Black Friday deal, you should head over there and get your one-of-a-kind fan art.

By the way…it’s not just t-shirts. Home decor, bags, iphone and android skins…even stickers.

Right now, mine is the only art for Attolia. I don’t really see that changing…but I would like to do more Attolia art so you have options. And more art in general.

I have plans and nearly-finished projects just waiting to go up!
